- The Uttar Pradesh government plans to use agricultural waste or biomass to produce pellets and ethanol for power generation and fuel blending.
- This will provide an additional income source for farmers, reduce air pollution, and save coal costs. The state has an annual biomass generation of 60 million tonnes and is the largest ethanol producer in the country.
