Biodiesel Production from Leftover Cooking Oil to Begin in Himachal Pradesh

• A meeting led by Purushottam Singh, District Controller of Food and Civil Supplies, addressed the harmful reuse of cooking oil and its collection for biodiesel production.
• Special arrangements will be made in Chamba to collect used oil from hotels, dhabas, and commercial establishments, discouraging oil reuse beyond three times due to health risks.
• Surya Enviro will collect the oil at ₹30 per litre for biodiesel and glycerol conversion, with regular collection schedules to ensure compliance and provide additional income for businesses.
