Agri-Waste-Based 10 TPD Torrefaction and Pelletization Plant Set Up by NTPC at NETRA

• NTPC’s R&D unit, NETRA, and LWP Biocoal LLP established a 10 TPD plant to promote torrefied biomass technology from agricultural residues.
• Torrefied pellets are recognized by the UNFCCC for reducing emissions and are part of the National Mission on Biomass Usage to increase biomass co-firing in coal plants.
• The technology, offers higher energy density for better coal substitution.
