Application
Description Olam food ingredients (ofi) has introduced two new circular biomass boilers at its cocoa processing factories in the Netherlands and Germany, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The boilers use cocoa shells, a by-product of the production process, as fuel to generate steam, which in turn powers the crafting of cocoa ingredients
Pathway Description: Cocoa shells are burned to produce steam, which drives a turbine to generate electricity. The electricity is then fed into the national grid and used to power Olam's European factories, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions.
