Description

Pili, a French company, has successfully industrialized the production of 100% biobased aromatic compounds through a robust fermentation process using proprietary micro-organisms and non-food sugars derived from biomass. This innovative process avoids fossil raw materials and requires less energy than traditional petrochemical pathways. The company has produced several tons of anthranilic acid, a 100% biobased mono-aromatic intermediate, which can be converted into dyes, pigments, fragrances, and other aromatic compounds, offering a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based products.

Pathway Description:

Pili uses industrial fermentation based on its proprietary micro-organisms.
