This extract is combined with water, butylene glycol, and triethanolamine to create a stable formula. The ingredient inhibits Malassezia furfur growth and promotes the synthesis of involucrin, aiding in the maturation of the stratum corneum. Clinical trials involve formulating the extract into a 4% shampoo, which is then tested for its effects on desquamation and scalp irritation.
