Application
Description This project reviews the development of eco-friendly green composite materials for brake pads, focusing on reducing particulate matter (PM) emissions from vehicle wear. It explores the use of natural waste materials like agricultural and animal by-products as reinforcements in friction composites. The study emphasizes enhancing mechanical and tribological properties while minimizing environmental and health impacts. The goal is to create sustainable, high-performance brake materials that contribute to cleaner air and improved public health.
Pathway Description: The process used in this project involves the synthesis of eco-friendly green friction materials by incorporating natural waste materials like agricultural and animal by-products. These materials undergo treatment to create natural powders and fibers, which are then combined with appropriate binders. The mixture is processed through steps like mixing, molding, and curing to form high-performance friction composites. This process aims to enhance the mechanical and tribological properties while minimizing environmental pollution.
