- Tata Chemicals and CSMCRI, a research institute in Bhavnagar, have signed a deal to make biodiesel from microalgae.
- TCL will set up a facility in Mithapur, Gujarat to cultivate a microalgae species of chlorella genus and extract crude oil from it. The project will help India reduce its use of fossil fuels, improve its energy security, capture carbon and protect biodiversity.
