- The Uttar Pradesh government has approved 12 private sector bioenergy projects worth Rs 550 crore, which will produce compressed biogas (CBG) and biodiesel from agricultural waste.
- The Compressed biogas (CBG) projects will produce 93 tons of CBG per day from agricultural waste and the state government will provide an incentive of Rs 75 lakh per tons of CBG production, up to a maximum of Rs 20 crore per project.
- Similarly, Biodiesel projects will produce 44 kiloliters of biodiesel per day from non-edible oilseeds, and Biocoal projects will produce 40 tons of bio-coal per day from agricultural waste, which will be backed by similar incentives.
