- The Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute (CSRTI) in Mysuru is piloting bioethanol and biohydrogen production from mulberry shoots and silkworm waste.
- The project, initiated in April 2023, has successfully produced bioethanol and is now testing biohydrogen generation.
- If viable, CSRTI plans to collaborate with industries for large-scale production.
