- GHG Reduction Technologies, a subsidiary of EKI Energy Services, has launched a new plant in Nashik, Maharashtra, that produces biomass briquettes from agricultural waste.
- Biomass briquettes, made from agri-residue such as sugarcane trash, corn cob, soya husk, tamarind, and pomegranate waste, serve as a substitute for coal in boilers and furnaces.
- The capacity of the new biomass briquettes plant in Nashik is 800 metric tons per month, which can be expanded up to 1200 metric tons a month in the future. This makes it one of the largest and most advanced biofuel facilities in the country.
