1. BCML is investing ₹2,000 crore to establish India’s first industrial bioplastic plant. The plant will focus on producing Polylactic Acid (PLA), an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastics.
  2. The facility will have a production capacity of 75,000 tonnes per annum. The bioplastic plant will be constructed on a greenfield site adjacent to an existing sugar mill in Uttar Pradesh, utilizing the existing infrastructure.
  3. BCML has taken a minority stake in Konkan Speciality Polyproducts Private Limited (Konspec) to enhance its capabilities in the biopolymers sector. The PLA produced will help replace single-use plastics in various applications, promoting a shift towards sustainable and regenerative production practices
