- Indian and Russian scientists have developed a method using deep machine learning to optimize biodiesel production from the Barbados nut (Jatropha curcas) seeds, a poisonous tropical shrub. This method reduces labor costs and improves the quality and predictability of the biofuel.
- Scientists from Don State Technical University (Russia), Federal Scientific Agroengineering Center VIM (Russia), and the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (India) collaborated to develop a deep machine-learning method for optimizing biodiesel production from Barbados nut seeds.
- The team achieved a 97% ester yield using a reaction temperature of 60°C, 1% potassium hydroxide catalyst, and a 6:1 methanol ratio. The model improved biodiesel volume and viscosity prediction accuracy by 10% and 8%.
