1. India will need around 14 crore liters of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) per year to achieve a 1% blending target in jet fuel by 2025.
  2. A 5% SAF blending target would require approximately 70 crore liters annually. The Indian government is considering a mandate for airlines to use blended SAF by 2025.
  3. India conducted its first commercial passenger flight powered by an SAF blend. The initiative is expected to benefit farmers and create green jobs, promoting self-reliance.
