1. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), one of India’s leading oil and natural gas companies, has initiated a pilot study to explore the feasibility and performance of alternative fuel blends.
  2. The primary objective of this pilot study is to evaluate the performance of two specific fuel blends: E27 petrol, which contains a 27% ethanol blend, and ethanol-blended diesel. By conducting this study, HPCL aims to gather comprehensive data on the viability and effectiveness of these alternative fuel options.
  3. HPCL will closely monitor factors such as power output, engine wear and tear, exhaust emissions, and overall vehicle performance when using E27 petrol and ethanol-blended diesel. These assessments will provide valuable insights into the compatibility of higher ethanol blends with existing automotive engines and infrastructure in India.
