- India plans to establish 100 compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Uttar Pradesh, as announced by oil minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
- A CBG plant producing 14 tons per day was launched in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of Rupees 1.33 billion from HPCL. 37 additional plants have been approved, with 11 currently operational in Uttar Pradesh.
- The CBG blending obligation is expected to attract investments of around ₹375 billion and establish 750 CBG projects by 2028-29.
