- Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), one of India’s leading oil and natural gas companies, has initiated a pilot study to explore the feasibility and performance of alternative fuel blends.
- The primary objective of this pilot study is to evaluate the performance of two specific fuel blends: E27 petrol, which contains a 27% ethanol blend, and ethanol-blended diesel. By conducting this study, HPCL aims to gather comprehensive data on the viability and effectiveness of these alternative fuel options.
- HPCL will closely monitor factors such as power output, engine wear and tear, exhaust emissions, and overall vehicle performance when using E27 petrol and ethanol-blended diesel. These assessments will provide valuable insights into the compatibility of higher ethanol blends with existing automotive engines and infrastructure in India.
